Sacramento is one of the sunniest cities in the country, with an annual average of 3,607 hours of sunlight. Yes, it gets hot in the summer, but delta breezes normally cool things off in the evening, making for pleasant nights.

Known as the City of Trees, Sacramento is the third greenest city in the world with respect to tree coverage, with 23.6% canopy coverage. Land Park has an impressive 33% canopy coverage.

Sacramento is riddled with trails, parks, and other outdoor activities. The American River Bike Trail (aka the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail) runs 28 miles from downtown east to Folsom, for example.
